The Gregg Young Sports Campus at Norwalk Central ushers in a new era of athletic excellence and community engagement in central Iowa. Envisioned as a premier indoor-outdoor sports destination, the campus spans more than 20 acres and brings together multiple first-class venues in one location. Here, you’ll find the Sportsplex Norwalk – an indoor sports performance center with year-round turf for training and gameplay – alongside the City State Bank Norwalk Fieldhouse, a brand-new recreation facility housing four full-size basketball/volleyball courts, a track, and multi-use spaces for camps and clinics. Directly outside, the sprawling Fareway Fields provide immaculate turf fields for baseball, softball, soccer and more, all configurable for various tournaments and sports festivals.
Visitors to the campus will discover a thoughtfully designed complex that caters to athletes of all ages and their fans. The facilities are state-of-the-art – from high-quality artificial turf that ensures play in almost any weather, to modern lighting for night games and electronic scoreboards that heighten the excitement. Spacious pedestrian walkways connect the fields and buildings, and there are plenty of spectator viewing areas so families and fans can comfortably enjoy the action. Fareway Fields, the campus’s outdoor turf complex, lies at the heart of the action. Spread over ten acres, Fareway Fields features up to 8 baseball/softball diamonds (or 4 full-size soccer pitches) of professional-grade turf, surrounded by 6+ acres of public park space and walking trails. With its bright lights, concession stands, and cheering crowds, Fareway Fields exudes an exciting community atmosphere.
